Training Programs for 4,000 Migrants with the Assolavoro Project

Over 4,000 individuals seeking or holding international protection status have benefited from free training provided by the Accoglienza&Lavoro project, promoted by Assolavoro, the National Association of Labour Agencies, in collaboration with UNHCR – the UN Refugee Agency. As of late October, approximately 2,300 individuals completed basic training focused on learning the Italian language, while another 1,700 participated in vocational training courses.

The initial activities of orientation, information, and skills assessment are followed by language courses and vocational training. During course participation, reimbursement for food and accommodation expenses is provided, along with an hourly allowance of 3.50 euros. Upon completion, a one-time contribution of 1,000 euros is granted. Additionally, those attending the courses or employed by an Employment Agency have access to contributions for daycare, essential goods for children, education, and psychological support for themselves or their family members. The training has had a positive impact in terms of integration into various occupational sectors of the market, a context in which Employment Agencies already report significant employment of foreign workers.
