Construction, training courses for vulnerable migrants in Reggio Emilia

In July, the building training course dedicated to 18 asylum seekers and refugees housed in extraordinary reception centres and in the local network of the Reggio Emilia Reception and Integration System will end.

The project was promoted by the Prefecture to promote the integration of migrants by leveraging one of its main axes, work, as also provided for in the national memorandum of understanding.

The course, organized by the School of Construction, aims to form a “polyvalent worker”, able to be placed within a company with functions of assistance to the four main processes of the sector (carpentry, masonry, laying, plaster) always in compliance with workplace safety rules.

In order to encourage participation, the beneficiaries who have attended the lessons consistently will obtain, thanks to the commitment of the School of Construction and Ance, an internship of at least one month in the companies that will join the initiative, plus a bonus of 1000 euros for those who attended at least 90% of the lessons and finished the internship with 100% of the attendance.
